History

Ardnacashel was originally a working farm with traceable roots reaching as far back as the 17th century. It is set in 55 acres of unspoiled County Down countryside.

Over the last 10 years, it has gradually been transformed into an Equestrian Centre, including 5* livery, coaching, competitions, and a small, premium broodmare herd. We also keep a flock of Pedigree Texel and mixed breed sheep as a reminder of the farm’s original purpose.

Ardnacashel is a family business managed by Janice Reddy. Before starting her own livery yard, Janice gained valuable experience working as a groom, first in an Eventing yard and then at a show jumping yard. During this time, Janice progressed to working as a groom for the Irish team competing in the Nations Cup. She relished the opportunity to travel with the team to competitions in various countries. Janice returned home to establish what is now known as Ardnacashel Equestrian Centre and as a rider, she specialises in Working Hunter and Showing.
